Verse:

“The gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to Him” – Ezra 8:22

By His hand, our God feeds us with finest wheat, leads us in righteous ways, protects us night and day against evil and upholds us and will not let our foot slip. “My people will be filled with my bounty” declares the Lord in Jeremiah 31:14.

Our God assures us a threefold promise,

(a)”I will never stop doing good to them” (Jer 32:40)

(b)“I will rejoice in doing them good” (Jer 32:41)

(c) “I will restore their fortunes” (Jer 32:44)

“A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without Him, who can eat or find enjoyment” (Ecc 2:24, 25) Yes, Indeed! If we have faith in resurrection, we cannot say as a man of no hope,

“Let us eat and drink for tomorrow we die” (Isa 22:13).

Job said that we receive good tidings from God (Job 2:10) and Psalmist says to God, “You are good, and what you do is good” (Ps 119:68).

The preacher says,” There is nothing better for man than to be happy and do good while they live” (Ecc 3:12). He realized that God’s people would derive satisfaction in life when they cheerfully accept things from the hand of God (Ecc 3:13). In Deuteronomy 12:7, we read, “There, in the presence of the Lord your God, you shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the Lord your God has blessed you”

You can find satisfaction and enjoyment in your work only if you consider it as a gift from God, because “everything God does will endure forever” (Ecc 3:22,14 and 5:19)

See, how the preacher concludes his book, saying, ‘Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man” (Ecc 12:13).

Here lies the fulfillment of one’s life. We can find satisfaction and pleasure in our life only when we acknowledge and revere God. We acknowledge Him means, we have to obey His commandments. Revere God means fearing God, which is wisdom according to Job (Job 28:28). Regarding obedience to the law of God, Moses said to the Israelites, “The Lord commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the Lord our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive” (Deu 6:24)

Think:

How satisfied and joyful is your life? Are you obedient to God, listening to His voice everyday? Are you faithful to Him in your ways? Check your relationship with God, whether it is pure, true and intimate.

Prayer:

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psalm 139:23, 24)

My two kidneys were completely affected and I was in a hopeless condition. Death was pronounced by doctors, but God gave me life when I attended Sis. Janet Shanti meeting in Kovilpatti. Many thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
